I’m feeling well and truly Chrismassy now thanks to a festive day out at Colin Glen Forest. I can’t believe this will be Rose’s third Christmas! We’re definitely making it a tradition to go visit Santa Claus at his different locations. This year we went with our friends and their little boy to Colin Glen Forest for a festive Gruffalo trail and to see Santa at his Grotto.
We were a bit late arriving for the afternoon session and only caught the tale end of the storybook session. We knew to wrap up warm as next on the agenda was a walk in the forest for the Gruffalo trail. The kids loved running around and splashing in the puddles whilst the adults attempted to solve the festive puzzle.
After our walk we got in line to meet Santa and this took longer than we expected. There weren’t that many people infront of us but Santa was in a very talkative mood and spent a long time with each and every family. So whilst the adults waited in line the kids ran around and played. Finally the time came for the kids to meet Santa and despite declaring throughout the day that she didn’t want to see Santa, Rose was pretty excited to meet the big man in the red coat and happily spoke to him and took a present from his sack.
I’m so glad this year the Santa visit went well as our shopping centre Santa visit from last year ended in tears, and the year before that Rose was just a baby and didn’t have a clue what was going on…although the photo with Santa was cute!
