The second week of our holiday in Orlando was more jam-packed than the first, and that’s saying something! If you haven’t checked out the Week 1 video and blog post then make sure you do!
Week 2 started with a visit to the Kennedy Space Centre (nasa) and we spent the whole day at this amazing complex which had so much to do and see. I bought tickets in advance of our holiday as a surprise for Phill as he has always wanted to visit nasa, being the space nerd that he is. We all had great time, learning alot about space, the nasa experience and its vast history. I found it very moving to hear the many stories of the different astronauts and the teams that gets them to space…the risks they take to find out more about the different planets is awe-inspiring to say the least.
We also splurged on tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year (unfortunately your Disney World ticket does not permit entry into the Halloween themed nights). In the past we have narrowly missed out on the halloween celebrations at Disney but this year the party started in late August so we took the opportunity to get tickets. The Halloween night was something I was really looking forward to and in many ways it surpassed my expectations, but a big drawback for me were the big crowds. I was looking forward to a less packed experience than you get during the day, but I think this halloween has been the busiest yet. However, it was amazing to see Cinderella’s Castle lit up for Halloween and the Hocus Pocus show was so much fun. We got to trick-or-treat throughout the night and it was a great experience getting to go on some of the rides in the dark!
Our last full day on holiday was spent at Epcot, and whilst not my favourite park, I must say that this year it was perhaps one of our most memorable days spent at the parks. It turns out Epcot is a brilliant place to meet characters (without huge queues) and of course this is part of the fun of going on holiday with a toddler! She got to meet Joy and Sadness from Inside Out, Goofy and Ana and Elsa from Frozen. I captured all these meet and greets in the video and I will honestly cherish those moments for years to come. The other great thing about Epcot is the food and wine festival they now have running over the autumn period. We got to taste lots of dishes from ‘around the world’, and again I feature some of our foodie experiences in the video.
In between all those big highlights we visited Universal Studios, Disney Springs and Disney Boardwalk in our second week on holiday. Everything is in the video, so please go watch, subscribe if you don’t already and give the video a thumbs up if you like it 🙂
