Do you know Mamas & Papas offer a free personal shopping appointment? Recently I attended ‘The Full Works’ Personal Shopping Appointment with Phill in my local Belfast store. Mamas & Papas have recently improved their Personal Shopping Service to offer one-to-one tailored consultations and I was delighted to be invited to experience it for myself.
Slowly but surely Phill and I have been gathering together the big baby purchases like pram and nursery furniture, as well as smaller items like baby blankets and clothing. We’ve been really fortunate and been given a lot of different items from various family and friends – from baby clothes to moses baskets and baby baths. There are still bits and pieces we have yet to buy – including a baby monitor, baby bouncer/rocker and the all important changing bag!
If, like us, you’re soon-to-be first-time parents, then a personal shopping appointment can be a fun and informative way to figure out what exactly you want and need to buy for your baby. What I liked about the Mamas & Papas experience is that it was super relaxed and informal. Melissa was our very helpful and bubbly Mamas & Papas rep. She took a real interest in us as a couple and asked us plenty of questions about what it was we were looking for and what we had left to buy for baby. After a coffee and some biscuits, she took her time showing us different items around the store and put no pressure on us whatsoever to buy. I really appreciated this approach.
Buying for a newborn first time round can be exciting and daunting in equal measures. It’s wise to do some research before making any of the big purchases. Whilst it’s great to do online research, there is alot to be said for actually going into a store like Mamas & Papas and speaking with a well-trained and experienced shop assistant. They can answer your questions on product safety features and practicalities whilst giving their recommendations about what would suit your personal situation.
Another perk to booking in for a personal shopping appointment is that you are given a lovely boxed gift by Mamas & Papas. In our box were two beautiful white/off white baby grows, a bunny squeaker and a lovely small comfort blanket. Phill and I were not expecting quite so much! All the items were really tasteful and lovely quality. And I must say I do love the Mamas & Papas range – especially the collaborations they have with Liberty of London and Donna Wilson. Swoon!
After the Mamas & Papas appointment I think I’ll be purchasing this wave rocker and tummy time playmat. I was originally set on getting a baby bouncer but after Melissa showed me how the rocker can be easily folded and transported I was sold. Since the baby will only get about six months out of a rocker/bouncer, I like that I can pack it away compactly incase we have a second baby down the line. I also love the bold rich colours of the playmat – it’s definitely one of the nicest I’ve come across. I could also very easily splurge on more baby clothes and bedding but I am going to resist the urge…for now.
You can book your own Mamas & Papas Personal Shopping Appointment online. There are three different appointment options to choose from depending on your preference.
