I felt really comfortable wearing my JoJo Maman Bébé maternity tankini.
I am just home from the most relaxing holiday in Gran Canaria. It was a week spent soaking up the sun with Phill and trying to imagine what life and holiday’s will be like when our little one arrives at the end of the summer.
We stayed in picturesque Puerto de Mogan, a place we had holidayed four years previously. I was keen to return to this beautiful fishing village and going somewhere familiar really appealed to us both, especially since we were only going for a week and we wanted guaranteed relaxation.
We spent out days reading on our spacious balcony, taking walks around the marina, and discovering new little streets and restaurants. Often we marvelled at my growing tummy and the constant baby movements happening throughout the day and night.
Of course I made sure I wasn’t overexposed in the sun, often preferring to read in the shade. I’m not a big sun worshipper and actually find sunbathing really dull!
We enjoyed the most delicious meal at N’enoteca, a small restaurant tucked away behind the marina.
When Phill first brought up the idea of going on holiday in April/May I was a bit hesitant. I was in my first trimester and feeling really tired. However, alot of the baby literature I was reading recommended going on a ‘babymoon’ during your second trimester as that’s when you’re probably feeling at your best – you have the energy and that ‘glow’ about you. Thankfully I agreed to book a holiday – our last as a family of two! I have felt so good in my second trimester. My energy has returned and I’m feeling proud of my growing bump. Here’s hoping my third trimester goes well 🙂
I’m in the process of putting together my holiday vlog so stay tuned for that! And if you’re interested in a holiday to Gran Canaria then read my recent travel feature, ‘Nine Reasons To Visit Gran Canaria‘.
