Here is my first post about my recent Orlando holiday! I’d hoped to get this up a lot sooner (I arrived home last Saturday morning) but this week has just flown by and, between one thing and another, I wasn’t as speedy with this blog post as I’d have liked to have been. Editing together the vlog always takes longer than I expect. Plus I had so much to catch up on after two weeks away. September always works out to be such a busy month and I have lots of exciting things to share with you in the coming weeks, but first, let me give you an update on my holiday.
Phill and I had a great time visiting Orlando for the third time together. Aside from a slight panic about an impending hurricane, the holiday was fun, tiring and relaxing in equal measures. The day before we left for our holiday I thought I’d take a look at the weather forecast, assuming that I’d see glorious sunshine and high temperatures. No. I was met by storm and rain forecasts and a hurricane weather warning! When we arrived in Newark (our only stop over) the TV screens were plastered with weather warnings and I was convinced our holiday was doomed.
Thankfully Phill kept me calm and whilst the first week was a bit overcast and rainier than usual (mostly short bursts of heavy rainfall and thunder in the afternoons), the hurricane broke up over The Bahamas and didn’t impact Orlando as much as was thought. Phew!
Wearing my white Nike Air Thea trainers from Footlocker & a polkadot dress I picked up in a charity shop.
I’ve said it before but Orlando really has become like a home from home. We stay in the same place and tend to do the same things. Boring to some, but not us! And it’s not as if there isn’t tons to do in the Sunshine State. The theme parks and shopping destinations take up most of our time haha! It’s nice visiting somewhere you’re familiar with as you know what you want to do and you also know what you don’t want to do. This year more than ever, we took our holiday at a slower pace – having morning swims and reading by the pool, lingering over evening meals and after-dinner drinks. I definitely didn’t feel like the holiday flew by which is good.
I hope you enjoy looking through some photos from my trip, and do check out my vlog too! I love creating travel videos as it feels like I’m capturing the essence of a holiday alot more than I would be just through photographs. In the next week or two I’ll be doing specific updates on my holiday experiences – including some fab dining experiences and a SeaWorld excursion!
