I am currently recovering from a fab long weekend celebrating my 30th birthday! I spent the last weekend of my 20s with my good friends Jen and Tom at their home in England. They took Phill and I into London on Saturday where we visited the Walthamstow Garden Party. The weather in London was absolutely glorious, which meant picture taking was a delight.
The event was huge (and free in!) and spread out across the beautiful gardens and grounds of Walthamstow’s Lloyd Park. There were tons of food and drink stalls, live music and foodie demonstrations, as well as an arts and craft tent and plenty of activities for kiddies. Whilst we were there we enjoyed coffees, cakes, ice-cream, sausage rolls and hot dogs! All the stuff that’s really good for you of course.
This is only the second year the garden party has taken place and it’s no surprise the event was so popular, attracting thousands of people. The organisation of the event and the quality of the food, drink, crafts and entertainment were extremely high. The atmosphere was really chilled out, with loads of families and couples enjoying the sunshine, food and entertainment. We arrived just before midday (just as the event officially opened to the public) which meant we didn’t have to queue for food (score!).
We could have easily spent the entire afternoon there but Phill and I were keen to visit Camden and we had tickets to see Scotch & Soda by London’s Southbank in the evening (which was hilariously jaw dropping from start to finish!).
A big thanks to Jen and Tom for making the weekend so memorable and fun. We’ll be back to bother you again soon I hope.
