The weather in Northern Ireland is leaving a lot to be desired at the moment but on a recent visit to Dr Martens Belfast I revelled in the summer vibes. At a special press event, I enjoyed trying on tons of shoes, sipping on cocktails by Love and Death Inc…and there was even a Nails inc nail bar and music from local singer songwriter Matty Rea.

As usual there are some really stand out shoes from Dr Martens in the form of chunky sandals, summery brogues and stylish flipflops. I wore my Polley shoes to the event with some skinny green jeans and a fine knit sweater (yep, it’s still sweater weather in good old Belfast!).
I was particularly loving the style of Dr Martens Store Manager Laura who looked amazing in a long yellow cover-up from Zara (which I’m not ashamed to admit I have since purchased!) and chunky brown sandals. Whilst very tempted to steal her entire look, I decided that rather than sandals, I would opt for some off-white brogues. It was the eye-catching skull motif on the AILA shoe that sold them to me in the end. I can see me getting plenty of wear out of these throughout the year.
I wore my Polley shoes to the event & I finally feel I have broken them in since I got them in March!
