I’ve not done many style challenges on the blog before but when La Redoute challenged me to style a beautiful classic trench coat five different ways I was more than up for it! We can all get stuck in a bit of a style rut but isn’t it great when we introduce a new item to our wardrobe and it opens up a whole new world of styling? And a coat can often be the one thing you need to bring an outfit together.
With the beautiful double breasted Laura Clement beige trench coat I was easily able to pull five different looks together to show you. I wanted a nice mix of casual, smart and dressy to show how a classic trench coat can be worn on lots of different occasions- whether your going out shopping at the weekend, dressing for work, or you have a glam event to go to. I deliberately introduced lots of coloured pieces to really set the coat off in each outfit.
Whilst I know some trench coats can be dressier than others, I found this one to be perfect – ideal for dressing up or down. And I also loved that the coat was a warm beige colour that didn’t drain me (which beige has a tendancy to do). The coat has a really lovely luxurious feel to it and hopefully my outfit photos show how nicely it drapes, even when it’s not buttoned and tied at the waist.
What do you think of my choices? Let me know in the comment section! And for more style inspo check out how other bloggers styled the trench coat on the La Redoute blog.
This is the sort of look I’d go for Monday to Friday for work – Uniqlo blouse, Next jeggings, Bertie heels, Jaeger bag & Missoni sunglasses.
I’d wear this going out for dinner or drinks with the girls – Matalan swing dress & Bertie sandals.
Important meeting to go to? I’m wearing a Dorothy Perkins blouse, Trina Turk trousers, Next heels and Mango sunglasses.
Super casual for a Saturday shopping – H&M vest top, Gap jeans, Jessica Simpson boots, Nica handbag & Betsey Johnson sunglasses.
Feeling the heat? My last look is casual & girly – Urban Outfitters denim pinafore, Uniqlo blouse & River Island wedge sandals.
