Last Sunday was my Dad’s birthday and we celebrated with a roast dinner at Mum and Dad’s house. After wolfing down my lamb and potatoes we headed out for a short walk. My Mum and Dad have lived in the same house their entire married life (almost forty years!) and I count myself lucky that I grew up in a beautiful area. Fields surround the family house but it’s still close to town for essential shopping!
It was a beautiful bright evening but deceptively chilly. I was glad I brought my new Targetdry coat to keep me warm. I always tend to dress really casual when I visit my parents because going out for a walk is often on the cards. So I wore my new coat with my Zara ripped jeans, Fred Perry trainers (bought recently in TK Maxx) and my Gok Wan specs.
This is my second Targetdry coat (the other one is a green parka) and I’m a big fan of the Belfast-based company. They do a great range of waterproof outdoor coats and I even bought my parents a Targetdry coat each for Christmas. My new Kendal Jacket is a beautiful raspberry red colour and just looking at it puts me in a good mood! It has a really pretty flower print lining and I love the brass popper detailing and the hemp and cotton blend drawcord. It’s also made with organic cotton so has a really nice quality texture. The only thing I have found with Targetdry coats is that their sizing is generous. I am wearing a size 8 (their smallest size) and it’s very roomy on the body and arms.
After our evening stroll we went back to the house to sit by the fire and eat the baked cheesecake I had made for dessert. A lovely low-key Sunday – just the way I like it.
Thank you to Targetdry for sending me the Kendal jacket.
