Gordons Chemists invited me to be their blogger in residence for December and of course I said yes! There are 50 Gordons Chemists across the UK – primarily in Northern Ireland and Scotland. I’ve long been going into the Gordons Chemists in Belfast city centre for bits and pieces over the years. I took the opportunity this month to pick up some make-up items and a little treat for my teeth.
First up I chose to get the Janina Ultra White toothpaste product. There was an offer on this so I thought I’d try it out and see if it produced good results. In the last few years I’ve noticed my teeth loosing their whiteness. No doubt down to general ageing and drinking more tea and coffee than ever. I would love to treat myself to teeth whitening for my 30th birthday next year but it is an expensive procedure so I will have to wait until nearer the time to see if it’s something I’m willing to go through with. In the meantime I’m going to see how I fare with the Janina product. I’m not expecting miracles but hopefully if I continue to use it over the course of this month and beyond I’ll see my teeth get a little whiter and brighter.
For make-up products I picked the MaxFactor Creme Puff, the new Rimmel Wonder’Full mascara and a budget friendly blusher from the Collection range. I’m a big Maxfactor fan and use their Maxfactor Maxfinity foundation and undereye concealer. I thought I’d try the creme puff to see if it helped to keep my makeup in place for longer. More than ever I’m heading out to events after work so I thought this might help reduce the time I need to spend touching up my makeup before I go out in the evening time. However I was worried about it being too matte for me but so far so good. I think it gives a nice finish to my make-up and it does seem to keep my make-up intact for that bit longer.
When it comes to mascara my default brand is Maybelline but I was seduced by the statement bronze packaging of this Rimmel number. I have no complaints with this mascara at all. I think it gives my lashes good length and it doesn’t come out clumpy. It contains Argan Oil which immediately makes you think it must be good for your lashes!
Finally I picked out a blusher in Bashful from the Collection range and I really like it. A little of this blusher goes a long way! Not bad for £2.99.
