Festival of Light is back at Mount Stewart for the second year running and I was fortunate enough to attend a preview event last week. Being a National Trust location Mount Stewart is an absolutely stunning house with beautiful grounds. But visiting at night time with the building, woodland and lake lit up with coloured lights is truly breathtaking.
As you wander around the grounds and take in all the illuminated trees you are treated to music from the movies. From Star Wars to Hannibal and Disney classic The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the instrumental music really added to the magical atmosphere and when you look across the lake to the illuminated trees and pretty reflections, you will be truly wowed by the beauty of the landscape.
For a magical family evening or romantic date I’d highly recommend a trip to Mount Stewart in County Down whilst the event runs every weekend (evening time only) until 16 November. Remember to book your tickets online to avoid disappointment and when you do visit bring your camera with you so you can enter the National Trust’s ‘My Festival of Light’ competition for a chance to win some fab prizes.
