If you’ve been to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, you know that it really is like entering another world. The theme parks themselves are immaculate with the most fantastic shops, buildings and rides. Music from Disney films follow you around the place and you are likely to encounter a street parade with all your favourite Disney characters (see our little video of this below). Disney staff have a constant smile on their face and are eternally helpful. I’ve never been called Princess or been complimented on my dresses so much in my life! They truly are there to make you feel good.
Did you know Disney is is over 30 acres in size? It’s hard to believe and even when you are there it is difficult to grasp its vastness. Not only do Disney have buses to transport you to the four different parks, they have a monorail system too.
Two years ago when we holidayed in Florida, we only visited Epcot and Hollywood Studios but this time we explored all four theme parks – Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We also spent one day at the Disney waterpark Typoon Lagoon which was actually one of my favourite days. You could chill out on the (man-made) beach, float around the lazy river in a large rubber ring, and then get your adrenaline fix from the water rides.
All this plus the little town that is Downtown Disney. An area full of shops, restaurants and bars, plus a cinema. If you have the energy after exploring the parks, you will head here in the evening time to have more fun.
It’s pretty amazing what Mr Walt Disney created. I’m in awe of his life and career. I might just ask for his biography this Christmas.
