I’ve been lucky enough to receive the first Box Happi – a new subscription box made up of artisan products and packaged in Ireland. For £30 a month, the new service will bring you a handful of beautiful items, most of which are handmade. If you like to shop local and support small, independent makers then this is the subscription service for you. In fact, I think Box Happi would make an excellent and original gift for someone.
In my Box Happi I received:
- a miniature piece of art, a notebook and and bookmark designed and handcrafted by Talie Mau.
- a luxurious bar of soap, handcrafted by Nature Saponifield.
- a brooch handmade by Applique Originals.
For me the soap was the stand-out product. It is scented with lemongrass essential oil making it smell sublimely fresh. The creators Nature Saponified say the soap is made “overlooking the Wild Atlantic Coast in Rathlee, Co. Sligo”. It comes beautifully boxed and is the kind of soap that would last for a really long time.
I thought the applique brooch was really pretty and I’ll be passing this on to my Mum as I think it would look lovely on some of her jackets.
I like that Box Happi will introduce its customers to a range of up and coming and established creatives from around the world. As with most subscription boxes, half the fun is the surprise element. At a time when many of us are shopping with more conscience and awareness of how products are being produced, I think Box Happi will be a big success. If it sounds like something you would be interested in, you’ll be able to sign up to the service very soon!
Disclosure: Box Happi sent me these products to review.
