Last weekend I was in Dublin for the Country2Country Festival. Phill and I took the train to Dublin on the Friday and headed to the concert that evening. Country2Country is a three day festival that takes place in Ireland, Scotland and London. We choose to get tickets for the Friday night to see US country music stars Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and Kacey Musgraves. We are besotted with the music of Chris Stapleton (check out his multi-award winning album Traveller!) and this year I got really into Eric Church (and Phill was converted by the end of the concert). We’ve been long-time country music fans and it’s the genre we listen to most when we’re together.
We decided to have an overnight stay in Dublin and make the most of our time there. We stayed at The Gibson Hotel which is directly across from the 3Arena (where Country2Country was taking place). It’s a new and modern hotel and we got a nice big room and enjoyed dinner in the hotel bar before the concert. The next day we got the bus into the city centre and spent the day shopping. The sun was shining and the weather was nice and mild…spring was in the air! In particularly we loved the Drury Lane area, where we popped into George’s St Arcade, some beautiful independent boutqiues and had coffee in Kaph after someone recommended it to me on Twitter.
Watch my vlog to see footage from the concert, the hotel and our wanderings around Dublin city. I hope you enjoy!
