Hillsborough in County Down is probably one of my favourite places to visit in Northern Ireland. It is just a ten minute drive from my parents house and holds so many childhood memories for me. Mum and Dad would have packed me and my brother up in the car for a walk and a play around Hillsborough Forest Park in all weathers. There ARE pictures of us in our Sunday best in the glaring sunshine at Hillsborough and there are pictures of us wrapped up in hats, scarves and gloves with Hillsborough lake frozen over in the background.
This time it was me and Phill packing my Mum and Dad up in the car for a walk around Hillsborough. We hadn’t been as a family in ages so I thought it would be lovely to have a wee wander around together. And we couldn’t have picked a better spring day. Hillsborough is such a beautiful spot though that it is lovely to visit at anytime of the year. There are different walking trails so you could do a quick circuit around the lake in less than thirty minutes, or you could drift further off the main track and go for a really long walk.
We were just happy taking our time, stopping to take photos and to spot some wildlife. I wanted to bring my camera as I really don’t take many photos of Mum and Dad. Growing up the camera and the camcorder were always brought with us on days out and Phill and I definitely take after my parents in that regard. Even before I started the blog, I would have had my camera and camcorder with my on day trips.
Do you like to capture youR days out on camera?
