I go back to work on Monday so I have been totally relaxing this past week and enjoying my time off. I’m definitely not one of those people that struggles to unwind. I like nothing more than chilling on the sofa, watching tv or whiling away the hours online. In between all the relaxing and eating, however, I do like to feel I’ve accomplished something over the holiday period. Christmas is a great time to do a bit of sorting out, clearing up and getting over to those little jobs you never seem to manage to do throughout the year.
I made hot chocolate from scratch earlier this week. Milk, dark chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, a little icing sugar, some cinnamon and a dollop of whipped cream on top. I had it with homemade caramel truffles my friend made me. Getting the new year off to a healthy start!
The Christmas tree and decorations have been taken down. I cut up most of our Christmas cards so I can reuse them as present tags next year.
Thee best sale purchase made this week! I’m in love with my new powder pink coat by John Rocha for Debenhams. From £179 down to £53, it was a darn good discount. And it contains cashmere…swoon. I remember reading a review on this coat a while back and now I have it in my wardrobe! I am such a coat person and I always end up finding lovely coats in the January sales. I also bought this green jumper which I think will go beautifully with my new coat. I love pink and green together.
The health kick continues. Getting stuck into a chocolate orange.
I finally got over to putting together our Florida album. My photo albums are more like scapbooks as I include tickets, receipts and other memorabilia from our hols. I’ve also been editing five years worth of holiday footage taken on our old camcorder and phones. This has been time consuming but oh so satisfying to do. It’s really lovely to look back and remember all the brilliant holidays we’ve been on and see how much we’ve changed over the years.
